Officially, Pi Day is celebrated on the 14th day of the third month, in honor of π's first three digits, 3.14.  But at Obscure Holiday, naturally, we're keen to celebrate all year round!

The It's Irrational shirt, features 260 decimal digits of pi on front and back. Digits by Steven; layout by Sarah. This one makes a great gift for the number-lovers in your life.

Pi is an irrational number. In case you need a refresher– we sure did!– an irrational number is one that cannot be described by the ratio of two integers, and which has unending decimal digits, and those unending decimal digits..?  --they can't terminate in a repeating sequence (such as for example 1/3 = 0.333333...).
The number known as pi has no end, and according to mathematicians, has no repeating terminal sequence. As of today, pi has been calculated to 105 trillion decimal digits. (Wow!)
We made this shirt with 206 lovely decimal digits for your perusal.

Want to know another cool thing about pi? Pi is defined by the ratio of a circle's circumference to its radius. Geometry go! We made a shirt about this too!  (Coming soon...)

Note:  The It's Irrational shirt is designed without our signature heart sleeve graphic.
